Amur River region

The Amur River is also known as the Heilong in China. The river covers parts of Russia, China, and Mongolia, (A) ________ China and south-east Russia. A large region of grasslands and forests, about 1.85 million sq km in size, is around the river.

The Amur region has some of the world’s most extensive temperate forests. These are forests of a rather mild climate area (B) ________. The forests are home for not just rare animals, but trees like the Korean pine, and wild ginseng, (C) ________.

Amur tigers and Amur leopards are top predators with no natural enemies. They play a great role in keeping a healthy balance of wildlife in their environment. This is very important for the local people, animals, and plants that depend on that.
